The Deveron Singers are a community choir who meet in Macduff Arts Centre on Duff Street in Macduff on a Wednesday night at 7.30pm for two hours. What Is A Community Choir?
It's a group of people who get together to sing for the enjoyment of singing in a group - there are no voice tests and the songs we sing are varied and mostly 'a cappella' or unaccompanied.
So, if you like singing and would like to be part of a group who do too, then we might just be what you are looking for!
Our aim is to put on two concerts a year. One at the end of the Winter term and one at the end of the Spring term. But these are not the reason for us meeting, but rather a way of sharing the songs we have learnt and that we hope you will enjoy too.
Our next concert is the Winter Concert on Friday 6th December 2019 at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm). We are delighted to have The Mearns Singers as part of the choir on the night and really happy that Harps of Gold are coming to play both on their own and with us - it should be a fun evening and you get to sing too!
Tickets are £6 (£3 for children) and available from Choir Members or on the door on the night.

She believes that everyone can sing and her coaching methods helps the most timid to 'find their voice'. She arranges music to suit the voices she works with and encourages individuals to explore different voice parts and move around the group or choir.
Irene is currently Music Director for The Deveron Singers
, The Mearns Singers (Stonehaven) and The Kingswells Singers. She has a PhD in Ethnomusicology and currently lectures for both the Music Department and The Elphinstone Institute at The University of Aberdeen.
